Itineraries

Day 1

HIGH TATRAS

Tatranská Lomnica Cable car from Tatranská Lomnica to Skalnaté pleso (1754 m). Hike from the Skalnaté pleso Observatory on the ridge tourist trail Tatranská magistrála to the viewpoint Huncovská vyhliadka (1800 m), traverse on the hillside of the Huncovsky Peak to the saddleback Sedlo pod Svišťovkou (2023 m), arrival to the mountain cottage „Brnčalova chata“ by the mountain tarn Zelené pleso. The hike ends in Biela Voda near Tatranské Matliare (910 m). Alternative: from Zelené pleso back to Tatranská Lomnica.

Day 2

HIGH TATRAS

Starý Smokovec Funicular (or hike) from Starý Smokovec (1033 m) to Hrebienok (1285 m). Hike from Hrebienok to the former mountain chalet (now 4 star hotel) Sliezsy dom (1670 m) by the mountain tarn Velické pleso. Possibility to continue to Batizovska valley and the mountain tarn Batizovské pleso (1884 m). Down to Tatranská Polianka.

Day 3

HIGH TATRAS

Štrbské pleso Hike from the highest settlement of the High Tatras – Štrbské pleso (1346 m) to the scenic mountain tarn Popradské pleso (1494 m). There are at least 3 options of further hikes: continue to the Ostrva Peak (1984 m) or to the Great Hincovo Mountain Tarn (1944 m) or to the iconic mountain cottage Chata pod Rysmi (2250 m), the highest situated mountain chalet of the High Tatras. Possibility to continue to the Rysy Peak (2503 m).

Day 4

EASTERN TATRAS

Tatranská Javorina Hike from Tatranská Javorina (1018 m) to the saddle Kopske sedlo (1750 m) and down to the valley Monkova dolina (940 m).

Day 5

LOW TATRAS

Chopok/Poludnica Hike or cable car from Jasná (1124 m) to the 2nd highest peak of the Low Tatras – Chopok (2024 m). Walk on the ridge from Chopok to the highest peak of the Low Tatras – Ďumbier (2043 m) and enjoy the spectacular views. Walk to the Hut of General M. R. Štefánik. On the way back to Jasna, hike through the Wide Valley – Široká dolina.
