ENJOY TATRAS was created as a common project of two powerful and trusted regional tourism organisations – the regional tourism organisation of the High Tatras and the Liptov region and focuses on the spectacular Tatras mountain region in the heart of Slovakia.
The Tatras mountain region provides numerous opportunities. As a mountain resort, the Tatras offer year round activities, with an emphasis placed on leisure tourism in winter and summer and MICE events in off-season. In the recent years, huge investments have been made into the tourism infrastructure in order to develop the potential of the Tatras and the reputation of the Tatras as a tourism destination has increased in international terms.

        CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

        Cross-country skiing is an integral part of winter in the Tatras. There are top class cross-country tracks in every resort, most of them groomed every day. At the optimum winter weather, 180 km of tracks are available in total (80 km in the High Tatras and 100 km in the Liptov region).

        WINTER FUN

        Skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing are not the Tatras´ only attractions: winter sports fans can try sledging, night skiing, ice skating, snow tubing and snow scooters. The peaks of the Tatras offer great conditions for winter mountaineering and ski touring, as well as for freeride skiing.

        SKIING

        The Tatras mountain region is a perfectly placed destination for ski holidays. The cold and snowy winters make ideal skiing and snowboarding conditions for all... levels of skiers and snowboarders on more than 90 km of slopes in four biggest ski resorts. Families with children will appreciate the friendly slopes in the nicest ski resort of the Tatras – Tatranská Lomnica. More experienced skiers can head to the steepness of Lomnické sedlo with a vertical drop of 1300 meters. The joint ski pas for the High Tatras is also valid for the Štrbske pleso ski resort, which attracts skiers with intermediate skills. The ski resort Skipark Ružomberok (Malino Brdô) has slopes of all difficulties amid beautiful pine forests. Jasna ski resort is the largest, most updated and most known ski arena in Slovakia, situated in the National Park of the Low Tatras, at the upper part of Demänovská valley. Jasná hosted several world class ski competitions as Jasná Freeride World Qualifier, FIS Ski World cup and FIS Europa Cup Slopestyle in 2016. 30 cable cars and lifts as well as modern snow making system guarantees an unforgettable ski experience on 50 kilometres of slopes from December till April.

        MYSTERIOUS CAVES

        The world under the Slovak ground is a real paradise. Kilometres of buried beauty lay across the whole country – there are thousands of unique caves, many of them undiscovered and hidden, many can be entered by experienced cavers only. Some of the most spectacular ones can be found in the Tatras...mountain region. Visiting at least one cave during your stay in the Tatras is an absolute must. The only cave opened for the public in the High Tatras is the Belianska cave, famous for its „music hall“, which got its name by the sound of falling drops on the water surface of a lake. The Stanišovská cave offers a different experience: real cavers are guiding the visitors down the unlit paths with the help of headlamps. One of the most beautiful caves in Europe, the Demänovská Cave of Liberty is located in the Demänovská valley. This national natural monument is full of underground halls and domes, tunnels and richly decorated ponds with stalactite water lilies on the surface and cave pearls at the bottom. The Demänovská Ice Cave presents the northern part of the Demänovská caves. Its stands out by occurrence of permanent ice fill, bizarre and mighty shapes of underground spaces, rare cave fauna as well as rich history.

Kolibas – typical countryside dining spots serving traditional Slovak food – are real tourist magnets.
